Get to know Hope Fidler, the caring cellist from Austin, Texas.
What do you enjoy about being a model?
I love being a canvas for others to display their art on! Being a chameleon is so much fun. I also have a lot of fun being a muse for other people.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Ideally, I'd be in New York, shooting every weekend, going to yoga classes, reviewing hipster coffee shops, and adopting rescued cats!
What inspires you?
Progress. I love seeing things set into motion, and seeing results.
How were you scouted by The Brick?
Ellen, the owner of The Brick, found me on Instagram after I posted a picture with complete bedhead!
Do you have an issue or cause you are passionate about?
I think I might have a filing cabinet full of them! I'm a strong feminist, that's for sure, and I'm really passionate about protecting the environment.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I'm really good at coming up with puns in the moment.
What is your favorite joke?
The scarecrow said, "This job may not be for everyone, but hay, it's in my jeans."
Where do you hope modeling will take you in life?
I really hope modeling can take me all around the world! I want to go travel and experience life in different places.
Do you have any heroes?
Does Morticia Addams count? I love how authentically herself she is, always, no matter what others might think. I also admire how willing she is to do whatever she needs to in order to protect her loved ones.
What is your favorite food?
Peanut butter! Or almond butter, or cashew butter. Really, just any kind of nut butter!
What’s something people may be surprised to learn about you?
I'm a pagan, and I practice witchcraft--but the good kind! It helps me to feel connected to the world around me and roots me in my faith.
What is something new that you want to try?
I play the cello, and I have always wanted to try to play an electric cello, just to see what it would feel like.
What’s your favorite hobby?
I love to work out, and more specifically I love to dance! I was a ballerina for 12 years, and I joined my high school's dance team. It's such a fun way of exercising, and expressing yourself. It makes me feel so powerful, and I especially love dancing with other people. There's nothing like the rush of girl power from dancing on a team.
What are a few of your favorite things?
Crystals, candles, lipstick, and coffee!
What designer do you hope to work with in the future?
Giambattista Valli! I love how feminine and beautiful all his work is, and all the pinks he uses are simply divine.
