Founder and Director, Ellen Ellis, cites her upbringing in a family of brick masons as the inspiration for the agency's name.

Although I grew up to be a girl who lived and breathed fashion, the summers I spent as a child on job sites playing in mud or helping my parents lay brick is still a large part of my life. My hardworking nature came from my blue-collar upbringing. Beyond this, it is also a symbol of what my agency does: "Building a model's career from the foundation up."'
